A Phone Call To Paw Paw

I just had to share this video of a phone call Gray had with her Paw Paw lastnight. The quality is not that great and Im sorry for the horrific hair on my child's head. I think it's time for a haircut!!!

You will hear her saying "bah-dher".. that's her version of "right there."

Enjoy!

Fathers & Daughters

So... Paul got an IPOD for Christmas. I know.. I know.. we're a little behind the times. He's been asking for one for years and I was so happy to give it to him. Besides, I feel like it's a gift we can both enjoy. Of course those of you that have IPOD's must remember how time consuming it is. He has spent hours downloading music and just as much time shopping for all of the accessories. I began to wonder if I got myself into something that could forever change "our time" together. That was until the other day!!
One day last week Paul stayed up really late downloading music and when we got up the next morning he said "Honey, while you're getting ready today I want you to listen to a song that I downloaded lastnight. I downloaded it for Gray and it's going to be our first dance on her wedding day." He had the IPOD all setup in the bathroom and he headed off to work. Right before I got in the shower I pressed PLAY. I just stood there and listened to each and every word... and it is the most perfect, most beautiful song I have ever heard. It so perfectly explains the love a father has for his daughter - every word, every verse is so special. We now play it in the mornings while we're getting ready to start our day. Here are the words to the chorus
"Im gonna watch you shine...
Gonna watch you grow...
Gonna paint a sign...
So you'll always know...
As long as one and one are two
There will never be another father who loves his daughter like I love you"
These two share such an amazing relationship!! She loves her Daddy so much and I fall more and more in love with him everyday because of the amazing father he is!
I can't wait to watch them dance to this song at her wedding - and I'll probably cry on that day just like I cry every morning when we play it on the IPOD. If you want to hear the song it's called Fathers & Daughters by Paul Simon. If you own an IPOD and a daughter - you need to download it!!

What A Wonderful Life!!

Oh what a wonderful life and what a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL Christmas!! Im not sure if Gray had a better Christmas or if Mommy & Daddy had a better time shopping and planning for the Christmas morning activities!! Seeing the joy of Christmas through a child's eye is just so amazing.... it's different than anything I have ever experienced. The picture below is a shot of all the goodies Santa left behind... lots of books, puzzles and Gray's favorite toy of all was the minature stuffed Cookie Monster, Ernie & Elmo.
Christmas Morning was lots of fun! Uncle Travis & Aunt Anna spent the night with us - Gray just loves loves loves them!! She enjoyed having them there on Christmas morning and they were so much fun to play with.

I wish you could have seen the eyes on this child light up when she saw the Dora tent. We have now moved it to the bonus room. She piles all her babies inside for a slumber party - it's precious!

Like Father like Daughter - Gray loves to cook just like her Daddy. She is always helping him in the kitchen with mixing and pouring... so we got her a cooking set for Christmas this year. She has her own utensils, measuring cups, cupcake pans, and even her own apron. Gray loved helping Daddy with Christmas Breakfast!!

Finally Gray has her very own table and chairs!!! She loves to color and do crafts so we know this table will get lots and lots of use!!

9:30am on Christmas morning Gray had a little meltdown - late night on Christmas Eve, early morning on Christmas Day and tons and tons of presents and attention!!! Just exhausted!!! She passed out on Daddy's shoulder during the middle of presents. Gray got in a quick nap and we packed up and hit the road to visit the Zytnik family. Gray did wonderful and really got the hang of opening presents and playing with toys!! Now the fun begins.... it's time to put away all the old stuff and make room for the new. Hoping everyone had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas and hoping you remember the joy of Christmas through a child's eye!!!
